[Sample page from the Opus Handbook] Some of the applications of this reference are: - Resistivities - obtain accurate resisvivities for your area - DST Interpretation - pure filtrate recovery can indicate by-passed pay. - Separation of Pools - vertical and lateral separation is shown by different water patterns. - Completion Problems - recognition of the source of water inflow can help in cases of poor cement bonding or casing leaks. - Recharge Areas - Formation waters that are high in bicarbonate indicate surface recharge of the aquifer. - Basin/Hydrodynamic Studies - integration of water analyses with all of the geological tools creates a more complete composite picture. - Scales & Injection Water Compatibility - Formation waters that are low in Sulphate can indicate problems with Barium Sulphate or Calcium Carbonate scales or injection water incompatibilities.
